One day tours from Warsaw

I can organize for you a tailored tour around Poland or a one day trip from Warsaw. Below you will find a few offers which I can easily adapt to your needs.

Private tour to ŁÓDŹ

Let us show you one of the coolest cities in Poland, perfect for a one-day trip as it’s only 135 km from Warsaw.
PROGRAM OF THE TOUR
First of all, you have two options: you can book private transport (around 2 hour drive) or decide to go by train (around 90 minutes). In both cases our guide will pick you up at your hotel/accommodation. In Łódź you will visit Herbst Palace and Księży Młyn – you will see a beautifully renovated palace which belonged to one of the richest family in the city, the building of a former factory and a beautiful neighborhood built for factory workers. It’s a perfect place to see how this post-industrial city is changing. Then you will go to Radegast station. The guide will tell you about the importance of Jewish population for the development of Łódź in the 19-th century. During the Nazi occupation a large ghetto was created and the majority of its inhabitants were deported to concentration and death camps from Radegast station. Today there is a memorial and a small exhibition. Next step will be a visit in Manufactura – popular commercial and cultural center organized in former factory buildings after revitalization.
The last part will be a stroll along Piotrkowska St. – the longest shopping street in Poland. After a break for lunch in this lively area you will explore its backyards looking for artistic installations, street art and designers’ shops.

Approximate price for 2 people including private transport – 450 €.

Lublin and Majdanek

On this tour you will discover the historic heritage of Lublin – one of the oldest cities in Poland.
Lublin is a very picturesque place with its castle, well preserved old town, cozy cafes and artistic atmosphere. You will have enough time to discover its beauty while strolling in the historic streets and squares. You will also visit the Royal Castle and its chapel with magnificent frescoes from the 15th century. These Byzantine-style frescoes are a proof of cooperation between the Eastern Orthodox church and western Roman Catholicism (they illustrate passages from the Bible). Moreover, they allow us to look at the only contemporary portraits of King Władysław Jagiełło.
Majdanek concentration camp
During the tour you will also visit Majdanek – the territory of a former Nazi concentration and death camp. In the middle of the woods you will find the territory of the former death camp in Treblinka. Here around 800,000 people were killed in 1942-1943. Although all the original buildings of the camp were destroyed, the place is definitely worth visiting. The guide will give you a fascinating insight about everyday life in Poland under the Nazi occupation. Moreover, you will see one of the most beautiful monuments commemorating the victims of the Holocaust.

Church in Brochow

Chopin’s birth place and Nieborów palace

If you are interested in Chopin’s life and want to follow into his footsteps, we recommend you our visit about Chopin’s life in Warsaw. Maybe you wish to continue to explore this topic? In that case Żelazowa Wola is a must see. Here Frederic Chopin was born in 1810, at that time the property belonged to Skarbek family. Although the Chopin moved to Warsaw when Frederic was still a baby, Żelazowa Wola played an important role in the years of his youth.
What exactly can we visit there nowadays? In the reconstructed manor we can see a small exhibition about the friendship between both families (the Chopin and the Skarbek). We can also see the way Polish nobility lived in the 19th century (typical furniture, equipment and books).
But the real beauty and interest of Żelazowa Wola lies in its park. Here you will see trees and plants from all over the world. Chopin’s music will follow you while you stroll in the alleys of the park. If you come to Żelazowa Wola in spring, in summer or at fall, it will be an unforgettable experience. And if you choose the right date for your visit, you may stay for a piano concert. The concerts are usually organized on Sundays from May to September.
Nieborów Palace
In Poland we don’t have many palaces that have kept their original interiors. That’s what makes the palace in Nieborów so special. In fact, the Radziwiłł family lived here quite recently, until WWII. They treated the place with great care and cultivated the memory and legacy of their predecessors.
Nowadays the palace belongs to the National Museum in Warsaw. During your visit you can admire a part of Radziwiłł’s art collection, their porcelain and ceramics, furniture of different styles (18th and 19th centuries). The guide will complete the visit, telling you about Polish kings and aristocrats whose portraits decorate the walls of the palace.

KAZIMIERZ DOLNY – a village discovered by Polish artists

This small town was granted municipal rights by the Polish king Casimir III the Great as early as in the 14th century. Today you can still find traces of its rich history: ruins of the royal castle on the top of a mountain, medieval tower situated even higher, beautifully decorated renaissance mansions, granaries, synagogue, historic churches and a monastery.
Thanks to its picturesque situation and natural values, Kazimierz Dolny became the favorite spot for painting in the open air for art schools professors and students. As a result, an artists’ colony started to settle in the village at the beginning of the 20th century. Nowadays you can find there lots of art galleries and lovely, cozy boutiques.
Apart from being a genuine architectural gem, the town is surrounded by very picturesque loess gorges. Some of them are only a few tens of meters away from the market square. During this tour you will have a chance to enjoy nature as well!
